In the 50s several buildings with architectural relevance were constructed on its garden, which were specifically planned to teach the common Fine Arts course units. The applicants to the Faculty of Fine Arts may choose among the degrees in Painting, Sculpture and Communication Design. All of them take five years. Pedro, Duke of Braganza, and endorsed by Cândido José Xavier, Minister Secretary of State for affairs of the kingdom.
